For a few years, Wide Horizon Care has successfully headed up a local campaign to help give back the dignity of young girls aged 8 years old and older. For these young ladies, the lack of the most basic needs result in them often missing school for up to a full week. They lack the funds for the most basic of needs which we take for granted – panties and sanitary pads. The knock-on effect is that they are at a permanent academic disadvantage as they are forced to stay at home whilst they are menstruating because they are unable to afford these basic monthly necessities.

We are appealing to you to assist us by regularly donating new / as-good-as-new girls panties (age 8 – 16 years), and new sanitary pads for us to donate to these young ladies. We arrange regular and on-going hand-outs of these items to the schools in the Midvaal community.

Drop-off points include our Hospice Charity shop in Henley on Klip, and the About Time Coffee Shop, as well as at the 90.6fm offices in Vereeniging and at Rotary Ann’s in Three Rivers.

Help us to keep these young ladies in school!
